moncton and beyond!

EARLY (that's right - early) saturday morning we were bound for moncton. like carolyn our mamma bird likes to say "...sometimes you gotta just nudge the little birds out of the nest." ok - so truth be told i "NUDGED" the boys for a 730am roadside start.

the early bird gets the worm...

we rolled into moncton about 130pm that sunny and hot afternoon. and we rolled right into the parking lot of the crowne plaza hotel, to met our dear sweet friend emi. what a reunion! the hugs the tears the hugs! emi is a friend and former roommate of both jer and me. in fact, emi even trained me in the st. john's prep kitchen. hope i'm doin' her proud with my knife skills.

anyway, after a quick clean up at the emi's place we were headed to the patios of moncton to sit back and catch up for the afternoon (... for the evening... and passed curfew too). what a satisfying meal and conversation. the patio was peppered with new friends we made - the conversation spilt out to the next patio - and night went on and on.

tucked away at our table were travellers from all around canada. we sat for hours and compared stories and road routes and survival tips too. there was a lot of good energy there. on that note we packed it in and made our way back to the r.v.

by 930am we woke up to a new day. we put the last 180km behind us and we slowly getting focused to hit the road for another 180km. man - back to back 180km - somethings gotta give soon.

by 430pm we made it to truro. the temperatures were 39 degrees with the humidex. if we weren't sweating before, we sure are sweatin' now! the best way to deal with this kinda heat is to find some air coniditioning and fast. fast like faster than a speeding bullet we hide inside at the theatres watching superman!

as soon as the movie was over these three boys turned in early. yup. early like 745pm early. i think the last time i went to sleep at 745pm i must have been 3yrs. old. early to bed early to raise... sweet dreams and good mornings!

catching up with old and new friends alike was definitely worth all the extra effort. we'll catch up again soon. but right meow i need a nap.

ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Z!

I think you hit the nail on the head. Swapping stories with other travellers is probably one of the most bonding moments for travellers. I still remember the energy sparked by the Australians I had the fortune of meeting in Yosemite National Park. It was flooding rain, buggy and cold but I was warm from the conversation & commoradory (sp?).

On another note, I think you gave me a good idea...on the road of life, plan but only 180kms at a time. Otherwise the journey seems too overwhelming. This young grasshopper is learning...thanks boys.

Keep on keeping on!
